Newquay Cormorants AGM 2019

Newquay Cormorants swimmers celebrating their success at the AGM 2019

On the 18th July, Newquay Cormorants celebrated a fantastic year of success at our AGM, held at Newquay Rowing Club.

Success was recorded at all levels this year, making it one of the best years in the history of the club.  We had a record 17 swimmers compete at the South West Region Summer Championships earlier in the summer, and we have 4 swimmers competing at a national level at the British Swimming Summer Championships 2019 in Glasgow and National Summer Meet in Sheffield at the end of July.

The AGM saw medals presented to all swimmers who took part in the recent successful Club Championships, in addition to achievement trophies awarded to:

Josh Eyre, Mia Davis, Connie Spivey, Ollie Randle, Freddie Hague, Elsie Luke, Timmy Jones, Teyah Rickwood, Douglas Hague and Beth Lines.

The all-round shield for the years outstanding swimmer at the club went to Tristan Bowen who achieved excellent results across meets including the recent Regional Championships.

The club Chairman, Mac MacDonald outlined the need for more volunteers and fundraising to enable the club to continue achieving at a high level and move the club forward.

If you would like to volunteer in any area including fund raising, timekeeping and officiating or any other aspect of the club please contact Club Secretary Gemma Farhall

The club is also looking for a sponsor for the upcoming season, please get in touch should you be interested.
